The objective of EUMOVE is to design and implement strategies and digital
resources that allow the educational community to promote healthy lifestyles in
order to reduce risk factors for non-communicable diseases in children and
adolescents.
03/02/2021. The University of Extremadura (UEx) has held the Kick-off Meeting
of the Erasmus + Sport EUMOVE Project. The event, held virtually, has had the
participation of 13 partner institutions from 6 European countries (Spain,
Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom).
EUMOVE is a Project coordinated by the UEx, framed in the action "Sport –
Collaborative Partnerships" of the 2020 call and has a budget of 399,379.00€
for its execution during the period between January 1, 2021 and 31 December
2023.
The objective of EUMOVE is to design and implement a set of strategies and
digital resources that allow the educational community to promote healthy
lifestyles in order to reduce risk factors for non-communicable diseases in
children and adolescents.
The Academic Coordinator of the project at UEx, David Sánchez (Faculty of
Sports Sciences), has highlighted that “through this project we intend to develop
a set of resources for teachers and parents, with free access, with the aim that
they can implement strategies in promoting healthy habits in children and
adolescents”. Sanchez has also stated that "all the resources produced through
the project will be updated on the website and will be translated into the five
languages ​​of the project."
Active participation in institutional cooperation projects promoted by the
Erasmus+ Program is a strategic priority of the UEx, which favors the visibility of
the institution, while allowing the expansion of the network of international
academic collaborations of teachers and researchers.
